Travelogue about a walking pilgrimage to Pandharpur, Pandharpur Payi Wari. The experience is shared here. I used to wonder how one could walk all the way up to Pandharpur, a distance of 230 kms. I was able to walk with the wari and reach the Lord's temple walking all the way from my Pune home. Before undertaking the journey, we searched in book stores/net for guidance with no success. That has made me think that I should write this experience and post it on a tavel blog. So, here it is!
The Lord, Father, Mother, Friend Vithoba (Vithal, Vitthala, Panduranga and Rakhumai @ Pandharpur

Janmasi yeuni paha re Pandhari, meaning, Take birth and see Pandharpur Vithoba. At least once in your lifetime, you must see Pandharpur to meet the Lord Vitthala (Lord Shrikrishna)

Dear Mr. Phadnis,
ReplyDeleteI am a teacher from Portland, Oregon, USA. I also produce a podcast focused on the subject of pilgrimage. I mostly discuss western pilgrimages, but I'm working on an episode on pilgrimage in India, and so I found your book on Pandharpur very interesting! I wonder if you would be interested in speaking with me for the podcast. I think many more people would be curious to learn more about your walk to Pandharpur.
Thank you for considering it. I hope you and your family are healthy and well. My email address is my full name (see below) @ gmail.com.
Regards,
Dave
